    Healthy Skin Juice

      2 serves, preparation time 5 minutes

      This highly alkalising drink is designed to reduce inflammation, promote acid–alkaline balance in your body and aid liver detoxification. This recipe contains natural salicylates (from the beetroot and carrot) so if you are highly sensitive to salicylates, favour Tarzan Juice, below. Recipe from The Eczema Diet.

      3 stalks celery
      3 large carrots, tops removed (S)
      ½ small beetroot (S)
      2 pears (must be ripe)

       

      METHOD: Wash and scrub the vegetables and peel the pears. Using a juicing machine, juice the ingredients, ending by adding a splash of filtered water.

       

        Tarzan Juice

        Hypoallergenic, low salicylate recipe, 2 serves, preparation time 5 minutes

        This recipe is especially suitable for people with eczema and/or salicylate sensitivity. Mung bean sprouts are highly alkalising and are salicylate-free unlike most alkalising juice ingredients. The drink is designed to restore acid-alkaline balance in the body and aid the detoxification processes. Recipe from The Eczema Diet.

        4 stalks celery
        2 peeled pears
        1–2 handfuls mung bean sprouts (not other sprouts)

         

        METHOD: Rinse the celery and sprouts, and peel the pears. Juice the ingredients and consume within 6 hours or sooner to maintain the freshness.

         

          Cucumber and Mint Juice

            2 serves people, preparation time 5 minutes

            This alkalising drink is designed to promote a healthy skin glow – it tastes delicious too. Recipe from Younger Skin in 28 Days. (Not suitable if you have eczema.)

            1 cucumber
            3 celery stalks
            ¼ bunch mint, stalks trimmed 1cm
            1 small nob ginger
            ½ lemon, juiced

             

            METHOD: Soak the vegetables in water with a splash of apple cider vinegar. Scrub celery and ginger if needed.

            Tip: For a stronger ginger flavour, leave the skin on or for a milder taste, cut the ginger skin off.

            Using a juicing machine, juice the cucumber, celery, mint and ginger, ending by adding a splash of filtered water.

            Remove from machine then add the lemon juice and stir.

             

              Green Glow Juice

                3 serves, preparation time 5 minutes

                A highly alkalizing juice, to boost blood flow to your skin, which gives it a natural glow. Recipe from Younger Skin in 28 Days. (Not suitable if you have eczema.)

                5 kale leaves*
                5 stalks celery
                mixed sprouts, 2 handfuls
                2 large green apples
                ¼ bunch mint, stalks trimmed 1cm

                 

                METHOD: Soak the kale, celery, sprouts, apples and mint in water and a splash of apple cider vinegar..

                Using a juicing machine, juice the ingredients, ending by adding a splash of filtered water.

                *Avoid raw kale if you have thyroid problems.

                 

                  Purple Carrot Juice

                    3 serves, preparation time 5 minutes

                    This powerful alkalising juice is rich in AGE-reducing purple anthocyanins and carotenes, which help to protect the skin from sun damage. Add a splash of apple cider vinegar which is highly alkalising. Recipe from Younger Skin in 28 Days. (If you have eczema omit the apple cider vinegar.)

                    1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
                    2 purple carrots (if unavailable, see notes)
                    2 large carrots
                    2 large apples (dark red if possible)
                    3 large stalks celery
                    1/2 beetroot, beetroot leaves and stems

                     

                    METHOD: In a large bowl of water, place a splash of apple cider vinegar and soak the vegetables, apples and leaves for 5 minutes. Scrub the celery and carrots if desired.

                    Using a juicing machine, juice the ingredients, ending by adding a splash of filtered water.

                    Note – if you cannot find purple carrots use red cabbage or purple kale and extra carrots. Avoid raw cabbage and raw kale if you have thyroid problems.

                      Hello,

                      I’d like to get started on the eczema diet (including the 3 day alkalising diet), however, I don’t have a juicer as needed for Tarzan Juice. Will I have the same effects if I just blend the ingredients with a nutri bullet (which I have handy) instead of juicing them?
